Parents and Carers Get Together - 22nd May

Just to remind you that the next Parents and Carers Get Together is on tomorrow afternoon 1.00pm here at the school. We have Bev Patnell from Involve visiting; she will be telling us about the after school and holiday activities she runs and well as some post 16 courses which could be a good add on to college sessions for our year 11 students.

On Thursday 22nd June we shall be welcoming Allison McCowen, a Travel trainer to speak to the group. Allison supports students in KS4 to learn about safe travelling to, and from, school and college. It would be lovely to have as many of you as possible join us.

On Thursday 6th July at 1pm we have invited parents and carers who are new to our school. Maybe you could offer some tips to support them during the move from another school to The Ashley School. Why not come and meet other parents and carers, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon. It would be lovely to see you.

Suffolk Libraries - Summer Reading Challenge

The idea is for young children to read six library books of their choice and collect special stickers and other incentives along the way. A key part of the campaign is encouraging children to visit the library and speak to someone about the books they have read. Anyone interested can contact their local library or register online via www.suffolklibraries.co.uk/src

There is no other free reading activity that involves so many children, introduces families to their library, encourages children to choose books freely and independently and is endorsed by parents, teachers and the Department for Education.

Summer Activity Club 21.8.17- 24.08.17

By now, you will have hopefully seen the plans for this year’s summer activities. If you have not and could be interested in your young person joining us please get in touch.  Places are limited and the summer activities are available for young people currently years 6-11.

If you have already let us know that you are interested in booking places the booking forms will be sent out after half term. You will then be invoiced and places will be confirmed.

This year’s activities (see here) are looking to be very exciting and we hope the young people have plenty of fun. Thanks for your continued support.
