School Closures
School Closure Information
Procedures in the event of Unexpected/Emergency/Severe Weather School Closure
Normally school closures are dictated by bad weather, however, in the event that the school must close, this letter sets out the procedures that the school will take in the event of an unexpected or emergency school closure. At all times the safety of your child is the most important thing for us to consider when deciding to close the school.
As we have a lot of pupils arriving on transport, the decision to close the school will be made as early as possible in the morning and transport providers are our main priority to contact to stop them from going out to collect pupils from their homes.
It is essential that we have the correct telephone numbers for you and any emergency contacts to enable us to keep you informed at all times. If there are any changes to your phone numbers please ensure that you notify the school office of these changes. Unfortunately, if our telephone systems are not working at the school, calling parents/carers will take longer as we will be using mobile telephones. We will, where possible, send text messages/email information out via the school app indicating that the school (TASAT) is closed and the reason, for example, “TASAT is closed today due to ………………………….”
Information on closure due to bad weather will be broadcast over local radio stations.
Please listen as information is updated and added on a frequent basis.

If the pupils are at school and the decision to close the school is taken, parents/carers will be contacted to arrange for pupils to return home earlier. As this involves shared transport, it is essential that you are contactable and that, once arrangements have been made with you, you are at home to receive your child.
Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
